A flooding basement is one of those problems that just doesn't go away on its own. Water finds its way in through the foundation, and before long you're dealing with damaged flooring, mold risk, and a basement that's basically unusable. That's exactly what this homeowner near Preston was up against.

The fix here was an exterior sump pump installation - meaning we dug down along the outside of the foundation, got the drainage system set up where it needed to be, and let it do the work of keeping water away before it ever has a chance to get inside. It's a more involved approach than just slapping something in the interior, but it tackles the problem at the source.

A big shoutout to Travy on this one. That excavation work along the foundation wall required some serious manual labor with a shovel, and he put in the work to make it happen. We also had the mini excavator on site to help move things along, but there's always hand digging involved when you're working tight against a foundation - no way around it.

The drainage pit was packed with crushed gravel for proper water flow, and the corrugated pipe was set to carry water away from the home efficiently. Clean, functional, and built to handle whatever this area throws at it. Out here in Franklin County, where the ground holds water and basements take a beating, having a drainage system that actually works makes a real difference.

Not every job needs to be complicated to be done right. This one had a clear problem and a straightforward solution - and now that basement stays dry.
